Music Education Auditions and Evaluations

Students, you are cordially invited to participate in the San Diego Harp Society's 2026 Music Education Auditions and Evaluations (MEAs), a program of the American Harp Society.

This is a fabulous opportunity to perform and receive feedback. Students of any age or ability level  prepare one to three (contrasting) pieces music from any genre is encouraged, including but not limited to classical, folk, jazz or sacred, selected in consultation with your teacher, as long as the total combined playing time does not exceed 10 minutes.

At the first session, on Sunday March 1,  music does not need to be memorized, nor complete. The adjudicator will provide personalized feedback and suggestions. Students may leave after their evaluation.

The second session, on Saturday, March 28, is treated as a performance. Students will receive follow up feedback. We expect students and family to stay and listen to each other for this session. Participants receive a completion certificate from the American Harp Society.

Students are expected to participate in both sessions. You will play the same music both times. You do not need to play the entire piece at the first session, but you are expected to be able to play it in full at the second session. We encourage students to memorize as much of their repertoire as possible.
